How can I ever give up cheese?
I felt the same way for a long time before becoming vegan, I lived in Paris for 6 months and lived off cheese! I know it’s hard for many others out there! Last week or two ago I asked one question to our twitter followers:
What’s the hardest thing about being vegan or keeping you from becoming vegan?
I was very happy, we got a lot of responses, and we are going to try and get as many answers and solutions for you as possible. But today, I wanted to try and address the issue of the cheese factor. Some people mentioned that it’s very hard giving up cheese. I agree, it is, but it can be done and I think the realities of the cheese world would make the transition much easier and make you happier and healthier not eating cheese.
I came across this article from Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine about the health factors that go along with cheese and what happens to your body along the process. They say that this is step 1 so I will let you know if they come up with more steps. Overall, this article shares the fact that cheese is the number one source of saturated fat that Americans consume. This is a health angle for the no cheese movement, there are many other reasons out there as well, animal rights being one, environmental, etc.
